Mir was founded by Mats and Trond in the year 2000, when they were students at the Norwegian Academy of Art and Design. To this day, they are still best friends and partners, sharing the responsibilities as principals at Mir.
The Mir team consists of around 10 handpicked and ambitious artists from all over the world. Our goal is to not just be a service provider, but a source of inspiration for the architects and their projects. We work as a team, out of our studio, located in a small town called Bergen on the West Coast of Norway.
We are surrounded by fjords, forests and mountains, which act as a reminder for us to be proponents of a greener, healthier world.
Mir has been the invisible partner throughout various phases of many celebrated museums, operas, bridges, airports, stadiums and more. Our collaboration with the biggest names in architecture on high profile projects spans back more than 20 years. We pride ourselves on being a predictable partner that delivers energy, engagement and uniqueness. Our service works; the proof is in the pudding.
One of our key services is extracting tremendous value from smaller, low profile projects with limited budget. We prioritize projects that has a close relationship to nature; in a way we like to think about these projects as our hobby. Nothing excites us more than seeing smaller practices getting attention from projects that would otherwise go unnoticed.
We are currently fully staffed.
If the right candidate reaches out, we will however consider expanding the team.
A Mir team member is friendly, honest and open to not being right. We are looking for new ways of solving things rather than preservering that which is.
We do not hire freelancers or remote workers.
The right person for the job is not just motivated to join our team, but also highly motivated to move to Norway.
